Introduction
CheckReal.ai AI Image Detector ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension developed by Elway-Mobile S.R.L. ("we", "us", "our") that analyzes images to determine whether they were generated by artificial intelligence. This privacy policy explains what data the Extension processes, how it is handled, and your rights regarding that data.
We are committed to transparency and to collecting the absolute minimum data necessary for the Extension to function.
What the Extension Does
The Extension allows you to check whether an image is AI-generated or real. You can provide an image in four ways: pasting from your clipboard, uploading a file, entering a URL, or right-clicking an image on any webpage. The Extension sends the image to an external analysis API and displays the result — real or AI-generated — along with a confidence score.
Data We Collect
| Data Type | Collected? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Images you submit for analysis | Processed | Sent to the CheckReal.ai analysis API to determine if the image is AI-generated. Not stored after analysis. |
| Image URLs (via context menu) | Temporary | Stored briefly in local browser storage to pass from the context menu to the popup. Cleared immediately after use. |
| Personally identifiable information | No | — |
| Browsing history | No | — |
| Authentication or financial data | No | — |
| Location data | No | — |
| User activity or keystrokes | No | — |
How Data Is Used
Images are sent to the CheckReal.ai analysis API solely to provide the AI detection result. We do not store, sell, or share your images or any personal data with third parties.
The Extension uses the following Chrome permissions:
- contextMenus — to add the "Check if AI-generated" option when you right-click an image.
- storage — to temporarily pass an image URL from the background service worker to the popup. The data is cleared immediately after use.
- clipboardRead — to allow you to paste images from your clipboard when you click the Paste button.
- Host permission — to send images to the CheckReal.ai API for analysis.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
When you submit an image for analysis, it is sent to the CheckReal.ai API endpoint. The API processes the image and returns a result. No user data is sold, transferred, or shared with any third parties outside of this core analysis functionality.
We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the Extension's single purpose of detecting AI-generated images. We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Data Retention
The Extension does not persistently store any images or
analysis results. Image URLs passed through the context menu
flow are stored in chrome.storage.local only
for the brief moment between the right-click action and the
popup opening, and are deleted immediately after being read.
Data Security
All communication between the Extension and the CheckReal.ai API is conducted over HTTPS to protect the data in transit. The Extension does not store data locally beyond the temporary context menu flow described above.
Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
